Tom Davison – About Me
This is the personal website of Tom Davison. I am an Senior Technical Staff Member, IT Architect for a large computing organisation. I have been in the technology industry for over 10 years having graduated from university with a first class degree in “Network Systems Management” and achieving several Cisco certifications. I have worked in a variety of roles in different companies from supporting IBM pre-sales, Intel level 1 support right though to leading global CIO campus networks and WLAN.
I specialise in overall IT architecture but specifically focus on:
- IP networks
- wireless networks
- network authentication / network security and
- software defined infrastructure.
I also sit on the Industry Advisory Board to help guide universities in delivering courses that align to business needs and ensure that the computing industry continues to grow and is attracting new, young talent.
Outside of work, I found enjoyment as the musical director of shows, or playing the piano/keyboard for theatre and bands. I also have experience in sound and audio engineering having done this since high school, frequently automating and mixing musical shows. This site also contains a copy of theatre reviews that my name has appeared in.
My blog contains technology related posts, with guides on how I’ve setup my homelab, tutorials on PFSense, Synology NAS environments, UniFi wireless, Docker/Containerisation and more.
All the blog posts here are my musings and don’t reflect those of anyone else.
